Betamethasone Valerate Cream is a topical corticosteroid.

Use Betamethasone Valerate Cream as directed by your doctor. Do not cover the areas being treated with bandages or other dressings unless advised to do so by your doctor.
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement or if you have thinning of the skin, a skin infection, tuberculosis (TB), chickenpox, shingles, measles, or a positive TB skin test, or have recently been vaccinated.

Check with your doctor if any of these most COMMON side effects persist or become bothersome:
Acne; cracking and stinging of the skin; dryness; excessive hair growth; inflamed hair follicles; itching; skin irritation.
Seek medical attention right away if any of these SEVERE side effects occur:
Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); itching, burning, redness, or swelling not present before the use of this Cream; secondary infection; skin thinning and discoloration.

Some MEDICINES MAY INTERACT with Betamethasone Valerate Cream. Because little, if any, of this Cream is absorbed into the blood, the risk of it interacting with another medicine is low.
Ask your health care provider if Betamethasone Valerate Cream may interact with other medicines that you take. Check with your health care provider before you start, stop, or change the dose of any medicine.

If overdose is suspected, call your local poison control center, or emergency room immediately. Betamethasone Valerate Cream may be harmful if swallowed.

Avoid long-term use, especially near the eyes, on the face, on the genital and rectal areas, and in skin folds.
Betamethasone Valerate Cream is for external use only. Avoid contact with eyes or eyelids. If you get this Cream in your eyes, immediately flush with cool tap water.
If this medication was prescribed to treat the diaper area of a child, avoid using tight-fitting diapers or plastic pants.

Betamethasone Valerate is used for reducing itching, redness, and swelling associated with many skin conditions.

Store Betamethasone Valerate Cream at room temperature, between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C). Store away from heat, moisture, and light. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep it out of the reach of children and away from pets.

If you become pregnant, contact your doctor. You will need to discuss the benefits and risks of using Betamethasone Valerate Cream while you are pregnant.
