This combination product contains two active ingredients: amlodipine and atorvastatin.

Amlodipine is used to lower blood pressure and to treat angina.
Atorvastatin is used in combination with diet and exercise to treat high cholesterol.

Use this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor.

More common side effects include:
ankle swelling
constipation or diarrhea
dizziness when getting up from a sitting or lying position
drowsiness or fatigue
erectile difficulties
flu-like symptoms
headache
Check with your doctor immediately if you experioence any of the following:
Check with your doctor as soon as possible if any of the following side effects occur:

palpitations (pounding or racing heartbeat)
symptoms of liver damage (such as yellow skin or eyes, abdominal pain, dark urine, pale stools, loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting, or itching)
symptoms of nerve damage (such as muscle weakness, decreased sensation in the hands and feet, loss of balance, numbness, or tingling or prickling sensations)
Call your doctor IMMEDIATELY if you experience any of the following:
symptoms of muscle damage, such as muscle pain, tenderness or weakness, or brown or discoloured urine, especially if you also have a fever or a general feeling of being unwell
severe skin rash, including skin blistering and peeling (possibly with headache, fever, coughing, or aching before the rash begins)
symptoms of a serious allergic reaction (such as hives, swelling of the face and throat, and difficulty breathing)

The following may cause harmful interaction when used with this medication. Please consult your doctor about ALL medications you take before starting this medication:
amiodarone
antacids
"azole" antifungal medications (e.g., ketoconazole, itraconazole)
cholestyramine
cimetidine
colestipol
cyclosporine
fibrates (e.g., gemfibrozil, fenofibrate)
grapefruit juice
macrolide antibiotics (e.g., erythromycin, clarithromycin)
nefazodone
niacin
other blood pressure medications
protease inhibitors (e.g., nelfinavir, saquinavir, ritonavir)
terfenadine
verapamil
birth control pills containing ethinyl estadiol and norethindrone
digoxin
hormone therapy for menopause

Seek emergency medical attention if you think you have used too much of this medicine. Overdose symptoms may include fast heart rate, feeling light-headed, fainting, and warmth, redness, or tingling under your skin.

This medication can cause birth defects in an unborn baby. Do not use if you are pregnant. Use an effective form of birth control, and tell your doctor if you become pregnant during treatment.
Grapefruit and grapefruit juice may interact with this medication.

Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take the medicine at the next regularly scheduled time. Do not take extra medicine to make up the missed dose.

Store this medication at room temperature away from moisture and heat.

Do not take this medication if you are allergic to amlodipine (Norvasc) or atorvastatin (Lipitor), or if you have liver disease.
Before taking this product, tell your doctor if you have liver problems, heart disease, congestive heart failure, a serious illness or infection, or if you are taking other heart or blood pressure medications.
