Take tablets by mouth and it works best if you tke it with food. Do not stop taking CEFUROXIME except on your prescriber's advice.
Side Effects
Report to your prescriber or health care professional as soon as possible:
Diarrhea
Heartburn
Nausea
Vaginal itching
Reduced amount of urine
Swollen joints
Unusual bleeding or bruising
or any other symptoms that are unusual or persistent.
Drug Interaction
Inform your prescriber or health care professional about any allergies you have to any medication and if you are taking any other medicines whilst taking Cefuroxime.
Anticoagulants
Warfarin
Diuretics
Medications for heartburn/ulcers
Other antibiotics & probenecid
Over Dose
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
Notes
If you are being treated for STD avoid sexual contact with your partner unil you have finished the course of your treatment.
Missed Dose
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember it. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.
Uses
Cephalosporin antibiotic used to treat infections such as bronchitis and lung, skin, throat, and urinary tract infections caused by bacteria.
It also treats some sexually transmitted diseases.
Storage
Store at room temperature between 15 and 30 degrees C (59 and 86 degrees F).
Precaution
Inform your prescriber or health care professional if you have or have ever had kidney or liver disease, colitis, or stomach problems, if you are pregnant or breast feeding.
