Permethrin Cream is a scabicide. It works by killing the scabies mite (Sarcoptes scabiei).

It is not recommended that you shower before applying this medicine.
This product is for external use only.
Use this cream exactly as directed by your health care professional.

If you notice any of the symptoms listed below or any other symptoms which seem severe/persistent contact your doctor immediately.
itching
numbness
rash
redness/mild swelling of the skin
stinging
burning
tingling sensation

Some MEDICINES MAY INTERACT with Elimite Cream. Because little, if any, of Elimite Cream is absorbed into the blood, the risk of it interacting with another medicine is low.
Ask your health care provider if Permethrin Cream may interact with other medicines that you take. Check with your health care provider before you start, stop, or change the dose of any medicine.

Since scabies is spread by direct contact, sexual partners and family members should consult thier health care professional to check if they are infected as well.
Consult your health care professional about the hygeine measures that all infected persons should follow.

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following apply to you:
if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding
