This combination medication contains two active ingredients: budesonide and formoterol.
This medicine is used to treat Asthma.
Budesonide belongs to the group of medications known as corticosteroids. It helps to control the symptoms of asthma and prevent asthma attacks by reducing the swelling in the airways of the lungs. Formoterol belongs to the group of medications known as bronchodilators. It helps to control asthma and relieve asthma symptoms by keeping the airways open to make breathing easier.

This device is sold separately.
It is important to use this medication exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
Many things can affect the dose of medication that a person needs, such as body weight, other medical conditions, and other medications. If your doctor has recommended a dose different from the ones listed here, do not change the way that you are using the medication without consulting your doctor.

Side effects may include:
awareness of heartbeat or fast heartbeat
cough
dizziness
feeling agitated
headache
hoarseness
irritation of the mouth or throat
muscle cramps
nausea
restlessness or nervousness
tremour
trouble sleeping
Check with your doctor as soon as possible if any of the following side effects occur:
bruising
frequent urination or unusual thirst
mood or mental changes
white patches in the mouth or throat
Stop taking the medication and seek immediate medical attention if any of the following occur:
difficulty swallowing, breathing, or speaking
skin rash or hives all over the body
sudden wheeziness and chest pain or tightness
swelling of face, lips, tongue, throat, or eyelids
worsening asthma symptoms even after using your reliever medication

There may be an interaction between budesonide - formoterol turbuhaler and any of the following:

azole antifungals (e.g., ketoconazole, itraconazole, fluconazole)
beta-blockers, including eyedrops (e.g., metoprolol, propranolol, timolol eye drops)
ritonavir
Tell your doctor or prescriber about all prescription, over-the-counter (non-prescription), and herbal medications you are taking.

If you suspect an overdose, call your doctor or emergency services immediately.

Stopping medication: Do not stop this medication abruptly, as this may cause your condition to get worse. When this medication is stopped, it should be stopped gradually as directed by your doctor.
This medication works by decreasing the frequency and severity of asthma attacks, and it can be used as a "reliever" medication. If you start developing asthma symptoms, be sure to use your "reliever" medication or an additional inhalation (or puff) of this medication for rapid relief of your asthma symptoms. It is very important that you have your "reliever" medication available with you at all times, whether you're using this medication or another rescue medication. If you persistently use more of your "reliever" medication, contact your doctor.

If you miss a dose of this medication, use it as soon as you remember and then return to your regular dosing schedule. Do not double up on doses to make up for a missed dose.

This medication is used to treat asthma.
There are 2 ways that this medication can be used to treat asthma: maintenance therapy or maintenance and reliever therapy.

Store this medication at room temperature with the cover on tight, and keep it out of the reach of children.

Budesonide - formoterol turbuhaler should not be used by anyone who is allergic to budesonide, formoterol, or inhaled lactose.
Inform your doctor if you have heart disease, an abnormal heart rhythm, liver disease, high blood pressure, epilepsy, diabetes, low blood potassium, or a thyroid disorder.
If you have taken or are still taking steroid medication over the last several months, consult with your doctor before using this medication.
This medication should not be used during pregnancy unless the benefits outweigh the risks. If you become pregnant while taking this medication, contact your doctor immediately.
The safety of this medication on children under 12, or during breast feeding is not established, so consult your doctor in such instances.
