Generic Symbyax is a combination of fluoxetine and olanzapine. Fluoxetine is an SSRI anti-depressant, while Olanzapine is an anti-psychotic.

Generic Symbyax should not be used with:
MAO inhibitors
pimozide, sibutramine, thioridazine (this could prove fatal)
fosamprenavir
diuretics
NSAIDs
blood thinners
anti-platelet drugs
high blood pressure drugs
Perkinson's meds
SSRIs
NSRIs
tryptophan
St. John's wort
migraine meds
street drugs
alcohol
meds that cause drowsiness
anti-histamines
anxiety meds
muscle relaxants
narcotic pain relievers.
Discuss all the meds you use with your doctor.

If an overdose is suspected, please call emergency services immediately.

Medical check-ups and tests must be performed regularly.
Psychiatric evaluations are also recommended.

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is nearly time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not double doses to make up for the missed one.

Generic Symbyax is used to treat bipolar disorder.

Store at room temperature at 77 degrees F (25 degrees C) away from light and moisture.

Generic Symbyax is not for use with depression due to dementia.
Generic Symbyax can lead to thoughts of suicide, so the patient's moods must be closely monitored.
Generic Symbyax is not for use during the last trimester of pregnancy, unless specifically prescribed by the doctor.
